FAQs

1. What counts as a ‘not so random’ act of kindness?
A “not so random” act of kindness is something done to someone else to help them out or make them feel good. It can be anything from sharing an umbrella with someone when they are stuck in the rain, to surprising a friend with flowers, to letting someone go ahead of you in line—the possibilities are endless! Our aim is to inspire ‘not so random’ acts of kindness in whatever form they may take. To that end, we don’t place value judgments on how ‘kind’ acts are, so any act of kindness—whether it’s a small or large gesture—gets equal value on our site. However, we do encourage you to go above and beyond, exceed common courtesy, and really surprise someone with a truly unexpected act of kindness, as you will find that those will be the most rewarding for YOU as well.

2. How do I add a new cause?
To add a cause:
1. Click on “Get a Code/KIND Card” on the navigation.
2. Enter a code in the ‘enter a code’ field. Once you do so, you will be prompted to choose a cause.
3. Click on the “Add a new cause” button. Once you click on this button, a form will appear in the green box below.
4. Complete the form and click ‘submit’. Then your cause will be added!

3. Can I add a cause even if I am not a non-profit organization?
Yes! Any charitable and non-self serving cause is welcome. Whether you are a non-profit organization or just an individual who wants to do something kind for someone else, like raise money for someone else’s kidney transplant or pay for someone’s college tuition who is truly in need. You do not have to be an incorporated 501c3 non-profit to qualify.

4. How do I track how my cause is doing?
To track the progress of your cause, choose the ‘TRACK KINDINGS’ option from the navigation, and then choose the ‘CAUSES WITH THE MOST KIND ACTS’ option in the top yellow box to see who is in the lead to win $25,000! Causes are listed in order of how many acts of kindness they have attached to them, with the causes with the most on the top.
